Staff who drive
Letting a provider administrator or dispatcher who also drives use the crew app.
A provider administrator or dispatcher who also drives uses the crew app for their legs, like the rest of your crew. Their own role does not open the crew app. They need two things:
- the Crew role, as well as their own;
- a row on your crew roster that is linked to them.
Giving them the crew role
Users & access does not add the crew role: Change role switches a member between Dispatcher and Provider admin only. Ask HealthyRides support to add the crew role to their account. A role change on Users & access later keeps it.
Linking their roster row
Once they hold the crew role, link them to a roster row:
- On Crew & admin, add them as a crew member if they are not on the roster yet, or open their row.
- In the Sign-in section, use Or link an existing member.
- Choose them and select Link member.
The list offers every active member with the crew role who is not linked to another crew record, so they appear in it once they hold the role. Linking sends no email.
Do not use Invite to sign in for them: it refuses an address that already signs in to HealthyRides.
What they see
They keep everything their own role gives them, and they still start on their
own role's first screen when they sign in. The crew app is a separate page,
with no tab in their usual screens: they open it at /crew on the
HealthyRides address, on the phone or tablet they drive with.
Someone with the crew role and no linked roster row sees You're not on the crew roster when they open the crew app, with Back to HealthyRides to return to their own screens and Sign out. Linking their row fixes it.
